WAKAN

The hospitality and hotel-operations arm

WAKAN is Shurfat’s hospitality and operations arm. When construction ends the longer phase begins: the building has to work every day, and a guest’s experience of it in year ten has to be the one promised in week one.

We do not hand that phase to somebody else. A sustainable return does not come from the sale alone but from an asset that is well run afterwards — and whoever developed a building is best placed to operate it, because they know why each part of it was designed the way it was.

What WAKAN handles

  • Operating the hotel and serviced units Shurfat develops.
  • The guest experience, from booking through to checkout.
  • Preventive maintenance that protects the asset’s value instead of deferring work until it becomes replacement.
  • Reporting operating performance to the owner, in the same figures the decision was made on.

Sitting inside one cycle — opportunity, study, development, operation, management — is what makes the promise accountable: the company that runs the building is the company that built it, and there is nobody in between to pass the responsibility to.
